Creating the Galactic Starveyors Atmosphere
Clubhouse Inspiration
- "Wood" walls and cutouts
- Maps and star charts on walls and rolled up
- Tip: Hot knife cuts Styrofoam to form wood "grain"
- Large telescope - DIY it out of simple tripod and cardboard tube/paper
- Trees, fake or cardboard
- Stars hanging on windows, planets/moon from ceiling
Night Sky Inspiration
- Dark night sky: use black tablecloth, foam board, felt
- Add tulle or mesh to create depth and have a place to stick stars, planets, etc.
- Glowy stars: poke holes through black foam/felt/poster "sky" and add Christmas lights or flameless tea light candles
- Star garland made from paper, glitter, and string
- Tip: Use a star punchout
- Have a dark room? Consider black light!
- Paper lanterns (either large ones to hang our string ones) make great planets!
- Hang stars, planets, moon
Campout Inspiration
- Tent! Pop-up or DIY it
- Create a "real" fire pit with a circle of stones, stacked wood, orange cellophane, and Christmas lights
- DIY a telescope
- Add crates, sleeping bags, boxes
- Cardboard trees and woodland animals
- Create your starry sky for stargazing: Drape tulle or fabric, hang stars, planets, moon
Space Travel Inspiration
- DIY Rocket from cardboard
- "Blaster Packs" out of 2-liter soda bottles
- Rocket control center - lights, knobs
- Large foil-covered moon rocks
- Astronauts (not aliens)
- Constellations (not astrology/signs)
